My first attempt at creating gas giants, I couldn't resist using my computer for this, so just ignore any wierd visual artifacts that you see, I can't see them.
It's not so huge that you can't fullview it people, please!?
EDIT: The new planet was made with my own, original technique I came up with, compare and contrast with the other one and tell me which technique you think is better, and why. Please.

so first what i say about this kind of images (the gradients in space) is to increase from 8bit to 16bit you see there is some banding = no really smooth transition. Then this is very common problem, you lead my eye from the biggest image to the lightsource but the lightsource is basically outside the canvas so my eyes get disturbed by devianart background solution? make lightsource less intense or move it a bit towards the image.
